Get to Know the Baxter Staff: Yolanda Fuentes

Yolanda studied computer science and has a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Since the beginning of her professional career, she has been at Baxter. After a year of working here, many invitations to attend church, and discussions about the Bible, Yolanda decided to give her life over to Christ and be baptized! She is now a member at La Vega church of Christ and we have been blessed to have her on staff not only as our librarian, but our sister in Christ for twenty-one years now. Yolanda is responsible for helping the students find the materials they need for their classes, keeping the books organized, and taking inventory regularly.

Among the many books in the world, the most edifying book we will ever read is the Bible. At Baxter, we have a library full of books targeted towards edifying the students and aiding in their studies of the Bible. Since she’s our librarian, naturally, we had to ask Yolanda about her favorite Bible verse! Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” She says, “When I am going through something, I can read this passage and it gives me encouragement to keep going.” Yolanda also receives encouragement from working with Christians at Baxter and likes to apply the mindset found in Matthew 7:12 of treating her coworkers how they want to be treated. We appreciate the work she does and the gentle, peaceful spirit she exemplifies as she works. Thank you, Yolanda!
