As the 2010 academic year begins, several faculty and staff assignments have been adjusted to meet the needs of a growing school with changing staff and faculty needs. A 25% increase in the number of students is good news but requires creative adaptation. First, we are sorry to have to announce that Rene Rosa and Alexandre Oliveras resigned their positions with Baxter as 2009 drew to a close. Both of these men have served Baxter well and they will be missed. Guadalupe Mayo, originally from Mexico, has been appointed Director of Student Life. Lupe is a 2006 Baxter graduate and also serves as a Bible faculty member and Director of the Practical Ministry program. He is currently completing a licenciatura in Business Psychology. Oscar Chirinos is the new Director of Admissions. Much of the success in recruiting an incoming class of over 20 new students is due to Oscar's hard work in the last months of 2009. Oscar also serves as a teacher and is the on-campus coordinator of North American groups. Oscar is a native Honduran. Lenin Munguia, originally from Nicaragua, graduated in 2009 with academic excellence, and is teaching Bible classes this semester as he finalizes plans for master's studies at Harding Graduate School. Lenin and his wife, Emperatriz, are serving in marvelous ways as they encourage the students. Miguel Oswaldo Aguilar, one of the pioneers of Baxter, is continuing his work as a teacher and also serving as a Counselor. Miguel has an M.S. in Communication, a Licenciatura in Psychology, and an M.Div. Pictures are available on the Baxter Faculty/Staff Page. |
